Orchestra Coordinator - Applications Now Open

Dynamic part-time role supporting concerts, musicians, events and creative projects across Central Queensland.

About the Organisation
Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra is a vibrant regional orchestra delivering concerts, education programs and creative collaborations throughout Central Queensland. We are committed to building meaningful musical experiences that connect communities, support musicians and celebrate the arts across the region.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Orchestra Coordinator to support the delivery of concerts, community programs and artistic projects.
This role sits at the centre of the organisation’s operations — connecting musicians, venues, partners and audiences to help bring performances and creative initiatives to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate rehearsals, performances and production logistics
  • Support artistic planning and project administration
  • Liaise with musicians, venues, partners and stakeholders
  • Maintain schedules, records and organisational communications
  • Assist with marketing, ticketing and audience engagement
  • Support compliance, reporting and WHS documentation
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive creative environment

About You
You are organised, proactive and people-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a creative and fast-paced environment.

Selection Criteria
  • Strong coordination, administration and communication skills
  • Experience in arts administration, events, community programs or similar fields
  • Ability to manage logistics, schedules and deadlines effectively
  • Professional and inclusive approach to working with musicians, volunteers and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively

​Position Details
  • Part-time position: 20 hours per week (0.53 FTE)
  • 18-month fixed-term contract (RCAP funded)
  • Clerks Award Level 3 or 4, depending on experience
  • Flexible working arrangements, including some evenings and weekends
